Overview
Garrow Space Systems was a Canadian start-up based in Vancouver, BC. I founded the company along with my 4 co-founders in 2019 with the goal of developing various technologies needed to enable new and upcoming industries in space including, but not limited to, in-space refueling, manufacturing, and assembly, satellite servicing, orbital debris removal, and asteroid mining. Garrow Space Systems was previously awarded a Canadian Space Agency’s Space Technology Development Program (STDP) grant for $116,000 for the development of the Zoran Thruster. Garrow raised a total of $156,000 CAD through financial support from the CSA, Angels, and the Venture Connection Incubator program.

Projects
Zoran Thruster
The Zoran thruster is a small Hall-effect thruster (HET) designed to serve as the primary propulsion system on CubeSats and other small satellites or as part of an array of thrusters on larger satellites for translation and rotation control. I led the overall systems engineering for this project and designed the thruster’s xenon flow system for both the ground test and flight systems.
Consulting - SFU Aerospace Physiology Lab
Combined Artificial Gravity and Exercise (CAGE) System
Our team was consulting a group of engineers and physiologists on the development of a short-arm human centrifuge for sustaining astronaut health during long-term or Lunar space missions. This project is under development at the SFU Aerospace Physiology lab in Burnaby, BC. The lab conducts research related to the understanding of human physiological responses to gravitational stress before, during, and after exposure to weightlessness, hypoxia, and exercise.
I also traveled to Toulouse, France to the MEDES facility to provide engineering support to research using the ESA human centrifuge.
